SeaClear is Seafields’ first commercial system for turning wild pelagic Sargassum into reliable industrial feedstock.
Sargassum is valuable, but that value is lost within 12 hours of beaching or after a few days compacted behind defensive barriers. Seafields is the first team to successfully keep Sargassum alive inside closed marine paddocks without compaction and die-off.
This gives us a first-mover advantage in controlling out-of-season Sargassum supply, unlocking product markets that cannot rely on degraded beach-collected biomass.
We deploy SeaClear with hotels and governments that already spend significant sums managing Sargassum, redirecting existing Sargassum management budgets into the first distributed feedstock network.

A partnership for impact on coastlines and communities
At the heart of our Sargassum management system are our engineered and tested SeaShield deflection barriers, designed to withstand demanding coastal conditions.
Unlike conventional barrier systems, SeaShield features our proprietary double-backbone design, providing greater strength, stability and resilience in the water. Strategically positioned within affected bays, the barriers redirect incoming Sargassum before it can reach the shoreline.
Our in-water AlgaePonix storage system transforms what would otherwise be a Sargassum sacrifice zone, and a source of brown water, into a biodiversity hub.
By containing Sargassum in-water and keeping it ready for regular harvesting, AlgaePonix help protect water quality and coastlines while providing a safe haven for marine life and a new snorkelling experience for visitors.
Seafields provides long-term protection and ongoing maintenance of the system, minimising the maintenance and repair burden for hotels, resorts and governments.
But our solution doesn't stop at interception. We harvest the captured Sargassum, transporting it to nearby sustainable processing facilities where, together with local partners, it can be transformed into useful bio-based products.

How it works.

Intercept
We intercept incoming Sargassum nearshore using our SeaShield barriers, before it reaches the coast, helping protect beaches and sensitive coastal ecosystems from damaging sargassum influxes.
Store & Stabilise
The biomass is redirected into our AlgaePonix™ paddocks for controlled in-water storage.
Our paddocks keep Sargassum alive and prevent the compaction and decomposition that occurs after beaching.
Harvest
The preserved Sargassum can then be harvested, providing a consistent supply of fresh biomass for downstream partners and product pathways.
Once harvested, the Sargassum is separated into liquid and solid fractions, reducing weight and creating standardized inputs for downstream processing.
Supply
The liquid fraction supports high-value biostimulants, while the solid fraction is processed into Sargassum pulp, creating a versatile feedstock for downstream product markets.
This includes biochar for cement and concrete applications, providing a high-value use for the biomass while supporting a zero-waste processing model.
By preventing the decomposition of the seaweed, SeaClear can “help avoid the emission of harmful gases” such as methane, while supporting a 'zero-waste solution'
